The Shoot:

Day 1 - 25th November - Today I began my shoot towards the practical element of CoP3. Unfortunately only 2 out of the 4 actors could make it to the shoot today. Instead of shooting the establishing shots of the house and the contestants entering, I decided to adapt what we were shooting to the actors I had. I conducting interviews of the house mates and what they thought about the other house mates, in order to place these audio bytes over plate shots of different characters in the house. Creating drama on the image track without actual confrontation. Imogen playing Kendall and Anthony playing Giles were both very helpful and fluent to work with with. Although I only captured a handful of shots, today felt like a a smooth start as i felt reassured seeing the production come together.
Day 2 - 28th November - Today only 3 out of the 4 actors could make it to the shoot, which gave me a lot more options that that previous day. I started out by shooting introductions for the male characters, unfortunately no girls live in my house and i wanted to create a realistic atmosphere for the introduction. So I shot a scene in the kitchen with Imogen, of a small disagreement between her character and Anthony's character. Imogen's character Kendall confronted Anthony's character Giles on him using the last of her washing up tablets. I asked the actors to hold a long pause before Giles answered, where an audiobyte will be inserted. After this pause Imogen reveals that it is in fact okay for Giles to use the tablets voiding all drama between the two. This scene portrayed in different lights will be explained in the final piece. Unfortunately as you can see on the top left of this paragraph the shot is too dark. My kitchen light wasn't efficient enough, I will have to take the shoot again either using a higher ISO, renting lights or on a clear day - so that the sign may illuminate the kitchen.
Imogen then had to leave for University so I began to shoot the boys and their time spent together. We started off by filming introductions that went well, apart from Anthony's characters introduction that will need to be shot again due to the lack of light. I then recorded a few scenes of the two spending time with each other around the house, playing video games and commenting on other house mates. I then took the two to Burley Park, where I captured establishing shots of the location and plate shots for audiobytes to be inserted over.Day 3 3rd December -
Over the xmas period production has grounded to a halt, gewetting together all four actors has proved a challenge. Due to their work in and out of University and the impending January exams, it has proved a challenge to get all cast and crew available for one date.
